iPhone 11 Black Friday deals 2021: What to expect this year

BLACK Friday is a great time of year to buy a new iPhone – but we don’t necessarily mean the latest handset.

Yes, the iPhone 13 will have hit store shelves by then, but it’s not where you’ll see the best Black Friday deals.

With the all-new iPhone 13 hogging the limelight, we’re expecting to see all the hottest Black Friday offers on older handsets, namely the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11.

When the iPhone 12 was released in autumn 2020, we saw a run of terrific deals on its predecesser, the iPhone 11.

So we’re curious – and very excited – to see even stronger offers on the 11 this year – hey, who cares if it’s two generations old?

When is Black Friday 2021?

This year, Black Friday takes place on November 26.

As ever, that’s the day after U.S. Thanksgiving – Black Friday after all is a decades-old American tradition that’s only became popular in the UK in the last few years.

It might be a recent phenomenon, but Black Friday is well and truly here to stay. Each year it grows bigger and longer, with more and more retailers getting in on the deals action.

Although the very best deals are often kept for Black Friday itself, you can expect the discounts, price drops and site sales to start appearing before that – quite possibly as early as the beginning of November.

That was certainly the case for phone providers, who often release a run of teaser-style tariffs and giveaways a week or two in advance of the big day.

When is Cyber Monday 2021?

Following the weekend after Black Friday comes Cyber Monday – so this year, it’s on November 29.

Traditionally, Cyber Monday has been a day of exclusively online sales, versus the in-store madness of Black Friday.

But in recent years, what with the boom in popularity of online shopping, there’s been much less of a difference between the Friday and the Monday.

You can still expect to see some final deals put online, but if you see a great iPhone 11 offer before then, we don’t suggest you wait to see if it improves on the Monday.

iPhone 11 Black Friday 2021 deals to look out for

Now that it’s not only one, but two generations old, we’re anticipating some dirt-cheap iPhone 11 deals this year.

Look out for contracts for big or even unlimited monthly data – but as always, there’ll be a trade-off between monthly cost and upfront cost.

If you cough up a larger amount upfront, you can then enjoy a low monthly period for the length of your contract.

But if the upfront cost is low, expect to be paying more on a monthly basis.

That said, we doubt there’ll be any particularly pricy iPhone 11 contracts this year.

What iPhone 11 deals were in the sale last year?

There were a couple of big deals available last Black Friday, as retailers went for large data contracts on Apple’s flagship smartphone. E2Save offered a two-year contract with 60GB of data each month – at a monthly cost of £33 and an upfront of £55.

That deal faced competition from Fonehouse in a Sun exclusive offer, with 75GB data at £41 a month and no upfront cost.

How much does the iPhone 11 cost?

The iPhone 11 handset currently costs £549 at Amazon, down from a set RRP of £599.

This year we’d expect most iPhone 11 Black Friday deals to be focused on phone contract offers. But, should Apple release a new phone before Black Friday, the SIM-free price could drop too.
