THIS magical townhouse would be perfect for knights on a budget — or families with Harry Potter-obsessed children.

In place of a shed, the £550,000 terraced home has a castle with turrets at the bottom of its garden.

The fortress, built by a previous owner, may look grand with cracked stone masonry and stained-glass windows but there are no rooms behind its imposing facade.

The castle has just six square feet of internal space, making it 36,000 times smaller than Alnwick Castle, which doubles as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.

And it is 80,000 times smaller than Windsor Castle.

Thankfully, there is plenty of family space in the house, which has three bedrooms, two receptions and a newly fitted L-shaped kitchen.

Estate agent John Payne said: “We think a buyer with children would love the rear garden, which is mainly laid to lawn with the stone ‘castle’ just beyond flower and shrub borders.

The new owner will not need a knight’s steed for transport, as the house in Abbey Wood, South East London, is said to be conveniently located for rail links.

Abbey Wood Station, which is just around the corner, is on the capital’s Crossrail and Elizabeth lines.

One local said: “I showed my castle-obsessed pre-schooler this property and he instantly asked if we could swap houses so he could have a castle.”

Another said: “That is actually rad. I would have spent way more time in our back garden if I had this as a kid!”

A neighbour added: “Abbey Wood isn’t exactly famous for castles so this is a lot of fun.

“It’s a great selling feature.”

But one local was more cynical.

He said: “I’m surprised they haven’t tried to list the castle as an annex.”
