If only my Malaysian son-in-law had £2m for a ‘golden visa’, writes Pamela Guyatt

One of my son-in-laws is Malaysian, of mixed race. He, my daughter and their two children visited for Christmas 2021, and stayed near me in Devon, returning two weeks later on a flight from Heathrow to Antigua, where they live and where he is a hotel manager.

A few weeks later, I received a visit from five immigration officials, three of whom checked my outbuildings before joining the other two at my front door, asking who he was, whether he was living at my address and a few other questions about him.
