Freevee is Amazon’s free ad-supported streaming service, offering dozens of free movies and TV shows.

“I’m so sick of the app being flooded with Freevee and paid content,” the Reddit thread title reads.

“I pay $140 for Prime, I’m not paying for no ads (which still won’t get rid of this problem),” the user said.

“I hate seeing ‘watch on Freevee’ because a) I’m not watching movies with commercials and B) my Samsung can’t install Freevee anyway,” they added.

“There seems no way to turn this off, remove Freevee content, or yellow paid content.”

The Reddit user emphasized that they only want to see what is available on Prime, for free.

Since going live, the Reddit post garnered dozens of upvotes and a few solutions in the comments.

“Just scroll down a few inches and tap/click the blue Prime icon under ‘My Subscriptions’,” one person explained.

“Click on the blue Prime logo and it will only show Prime content. I think on a smart TV there is also a ‘free to me’ thing you can use that will do the same thing,” another user noted.

A few other users urged the Reddit thread owner to cancel their Prime subscription altogether.

“Cancel Amazon Prime. First off, you’re being charged for the ‘free’ shipping,” a third person said.

“I have a Roku stick. The Roku channel has tons of free good movies and series. For the longest, I avoided watching movies on the Roku channel because there were tons of ads,” they added.

“But now, there is only one commercial break for an entire movie. I can’t even watch Freevee because the amount of ads is insane,” they added.”

AMAZON PRIME

Currently, Amazon Prime costs $14.99 each month or $139 annually – this includes Prime Video.

Meanwhile, Prime Video as a standalone option sets users back $8.99/month.

The platform became the latest streaming service to introduce advertisements to content.

It now joins the other four most popular streaming sites in the US: Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, and Max.

FREEVEE

Freevee was founded in 2019 and is currently only available in the United States, the UK, and Germany.

The app unlocks hundreds of titles legally – and is available to anyone with a smart TV or console.

The idea is that you get no-cost television – but you have to watch ads in exchange.

Most recently, the platform added some new channels including the NCAA March Madness Channel.
