She shared three items you should always pick up at your nearest Matalan and the two to avoid.

Lisa said: “For women, the swimwear collections are amazing with a super range of swimsuits and high leg or midi bikinis that are available on a range of cup sizes.

“Prices start at just £7.50 so you can look stunning on the beach or round by the pool for less.”

Men’s suits and formal wear

It might not be your first port of call, but you can pick up some stylish suits in Matalan.

In most cases, you should be able to choose from a variety of sizes and choices.

Lisa said: “Sizes range from wait 30 inches to 46 inches, which is fabulous, and the cuts available are slim, regular, tailored and skinny.

“Trousers start at £38 with jackets from £67.”

Homeware

Keep an eye out for homeware items too, particular smaller and more decorative pieces.

Lisa said: “The homeware in Matalan is just gorgeous, items for every room in your house, storage baskets, draw organisers, photo frames, candles, plant pots and so much more and with great prices your home can look like it’s been styled by an interior designer.”

In Matalan’s summer sale, prices start from as little as £1.50 for a candle or £4.50 for a rattan set of drawers.

Items to avoid

While shoppers are often spoiled for choice when they pop into a Matalan store, not everything is worth your money.

Lisa said that if you’re looking for a good pair of shoes, you might wan to avoid Matalan.

She said: “One area I feel it lacks is in its shoe department, which does not always offer a great selection.

“Sizes are also not always readily available. Even so, they can still be quite cheap starting from just £9.50.”

Lisa added that the toy department is also on the smaller side instore, compared to online.

She said: “It does offer a range for the children in your lives but it can get quite lost within the store, it would not be a destination that the majority of shoppers would go to purchase toys.”
