Now Mike has revealed why the item is not on the menu at McDonald’s for a very good reason.

Many customers often request the side only to be told that they are not for sale at the famous franchise.

He said: “McDonald’s is most profitable when they are efficient. This has led them to reduce choice.”

Mike explained that the sale of onion rings could have a negative impact on one of the chain’s famous sides.

He said: “McDonald’s make a significant mark-up on their fries. But if they start selling onion rings this could reduce orders for fries. “

And Mike warned that if onion rings did appear on the menu, it would be a short-term offer.

He also suggested that the chain would be forced to overcharge for onion rings if they did make a brief return to the menu.

But Mike concluded that the chain was highly unlikely to put onion rings on the menu because they “make so much money on french fries.”

TikTok users responded to Mike’s video with some interesting comments.

One said: “Those fries are absurdly over priced, lol.”

Another said: “At this point, it seems most of their menu is overpriced for what you are getting.”

And: “Anyone remember the onion nuggets they sold in the early 80’s? Friends think I’m making it up.”
