Monday, September 19 has been declared a Bank Holiday in honour of the Queen’s funeral.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8, 2022, and she will be laid to rest on Monday.

Many stores and businesses have decided to change their opening times or close on the day of the funeral out of respect.

Here is everything you need to know about Ikea’s opening hours over the September Bank Holiday.

What are the Ikea opening times over September Bank Holiday?

Ikea said it is closing all of its 33 stores on Monday out of respect for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

It said it made the decision to allow its worker to pay their respects.

An Ikea UK spokesperson said, “We join the rest of the United Kingdom in mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“Out of respect, and to enable our co-workers to participate in the funeral, IKEA will pause its business operations, including closing all of our UK stores on Monday 19th September.”

Ikea will be pausing deliveries on the day of the Queen’s funeral.

Ikea has emailed customers about changes to delivery schedules – so check your emails to see when your shopping will be delivered now.

The store generally offers a parcel to address delivery service from £4 or larger delivery options from £40.

DPD also delivers Ikea’s packages, and delivery costs £2 if you get it delivered to a DPD pick up point.

To find your local store opening times, shoppers can visit the store locator page on the Ikea website.

The flatpack furniture store is usually open from 10am and shuts around 9pm or 10pm on weekdays.

When are the Bank Holiday dates for 2022?

The next Bank Holiday dates fall later on in the year.

This year’s Bank Holidays will fall on Boxing Day and December 27, which is a substitute day as Christmas Day is on Sunday.
