We also reveal how you can bag major discounts by heading to a specific area in your local Ikea store.

Shoppers can snap up a two-pack of door knobs for £1 instead of £3.50 in Ikea’s sale – a 72% discount – and an artificial potted plant for £3 down from £5 – that’s 40% off.

Meanwhile, the home of iconic Swedish meatballs has dropped the price on one of its 50-hour scented candles from £3 to £1.

If you’re looking for a plant pot you can snap one up from £1 slashed from £2 as well.

There’s also a tap with strainer unit selling for £80 down from £100, a soft dinosaur toy for the little ones for £9 instead of £15 and a three-seat sofa that’s been cut from £479 to £449.

Plus, customers can snap up a bed and sofa throw for £6 down from £12.

Here’s a few of the best items we spotted that might be worth picking up or having delivered.

Remember, you can find your nearest Ikea branch by using the retailer’s store locator tool on its website.

Plus, make sure you shop around before buying what you think is a major bargain as you might something similar for less elsewhere.

You can use price comparison websites like Trolley and Price Spy to cross-check prices on thousands of products.

The Google Shopping/Product is useful for doing a quick scan of the internet to see how much other retailer’s are selling a specific item for.

If you do buy from Ikea, remember too to see if it works out cheaper to collect from your nearest branch rather than have it delivered.

Click and collect is free while you will have to pay for delivery.

That said, we looked at how much it would cost to have some of the items delivered to three postcodes and there were no delivery options available so you’re not guaranteed to be able to order from the comfort of your home.

How else to save money at Ikea

If you miss out on the Ikea sale, fear not as there are other ways to save money at the retailer.

The Sun previously spoke to retail expert Andrew Busby who said the “Circular Hub” is well worth a visit in your local branch.

They’re found in all stores, usually by the tills, and offer customers ex-display and slightly damaged items at knock down prices.

Shoppers online have previously found blinds for £3.20 instead of £5 and coffee tables for £60 instead of £200.

One even bagged a set of six door blinds for £1.29 each instead of £69 – a whopping 98% discount.

Of course, you won’t always get such hefty discounts as Ikea slashes prices on a case-by-case basis and how worn and torn an item is.

The Circular Hub isn’t just in-store either – you can search for items online and reserve them to collect at your closest branch.

Andrew also recommended opting in to the “no-brainer” Ikea Family Card, the retailer’s loyalty scheme.

Under the free-to-join scheme, customers are given access to the Circular Hub and exclusive discounts.

We previously found a Tarno table and chair set for £54.50 instead of £109 for loyalty customers – a 50% discount.
