A WOMAN who won hundreds of pounds in a postcode lottery has revealed what she will spend the money on – it’s more normal than you would think.

Sylvia Ross, from Nottingham, raked in £814.02 in the Pick My Postcode lottery but has insisted she will not go mad with her winnings.

Instead, the 60-year-old housewife said she will be spending the cash on Christmas expenses and household bills.

While other lotto winners might treat themselves to a swanky meal or luxury holiday, Sylvia will be using the prize to help her through the festive season in the midst of the cost of living crisis.

She said: “I was in total shock when my postcode came up, couldn’t quite take it in. But very pleased when it did finally sink in.

“Winning this money will help with Christmas and paying general bills. To everyone else, I would just say keep checking because the next draw could be you.”

Sylvia has been playing the lottery for more than seven years and checks the draws every day.

She has previously won a smaller prize of £5 in 2017.

Pick My Postcode has given out £27,561.49 just in Nottinghamshire since 2017.

Recently, the lotto’s Chief Executive, Chris Holbrook, headed up to Nottingham and gave away money hidden in fake parking tickets.
