A MUM who was drowning in debt and about to be evicted started a side hustle – and now she’s on track to make £1 million.
Tara Nicole Warren was a teen mum working paycheck to paycheck trying to support her family.
In a job where she was undervalued the mum-of-two admitted she had been through some “awful years” and just wanted to take her kids on holiday.
Struggling to pay her rent, Tara was about to be evicted when she saw an advert offering a beauty course for £300.
“That’s all I had to my name,” the Newcastle single mum said.
“But I thought if I could make £50 on a Saturday afternoon working for myself then I could work towards the goal of being able to take the kids on their first holiday.”
Within three months, Tara was able to take her children away and quit her job in property to launch a beauty business.
And fast forward seven years, the now 30-year-old runs BASH Academy, which is on track for a million-pound turnover.
Tara teaches people how to do cosmetic tattooing and beauty treatments from a unit on an industrial estate.
She told ChronicleLive: “I went to the office one day and I had been treated really badly and I just quit.

“I didn’t know how I was going to pay my bills or rent but I couldn’t take being treated like that anymore by the people there.
“One of the last things my boss said to me was that I had better go sign on to benefits because there was no way I would ever make a living from brows.”
BASH now employs eight people focussing on eyebrows, lips and freckles – but Tara wants to expand into medical tattooing as well.

Her “gamble paid off” as the business has become one of the UK’s leading training providers for permanent make-up.
Tara, who is now married and expecting her third child, is currently dreaming of opening an academy in Dubai and taking her business worldwide.
She’s not the only one to make the most of side hustles – with one mum claiming she made over £200,000 selling T-shirts online.
