MCDONALD’S fans can feast on five new menu additions from today – and we got to try them.
The fast food giant often updates its menu every few weeks.

Items are often swapped for brand new ones, but McDonald’s can also bring back familiar faves – and it’s usually a win for fans.
From today, there are five new additions to the menu across all of Maccies’ 1,450 restaurants in the UK.
The items coming back are the much-loved Chicken Big Mac, mozzarella dippers and the restaurant’s Easter favourites – the Creme Egg and the Caramel Egg McFlurry.
But the new addition is the Steakhouse Stack which I was really excited to try.
As today is launch day, I put the new items to the test.
When scoring the items, I considered taste, appearance and value for money.
Steakhouse Stack 4/5

I was really surprised by this one. I tend to avoid the red meat options at McDonald’s and was sceptical to try it but it tasted really good.
It contains two beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions, and lettuce topped with a creamy peppercorn sauce in a toasted bun.

It tasted really “meaty” which is just what you want for a burger.
The lettuce felt fresh and perhaps a strange comment to make but the crunch of the onion really worked well with the rest of the burger.
It also looked really appetizing which was great as McDonald’s burgers can arrive looking a little sad.
The only thing is that it was quite dry so a little more sauce wouldn’t go amiss, plus it’s more expensive than the Chicken Big Mac but quite a bit smaller.
A Steakhouse Stack will cost you £5.39 by itself or £6.99 as a meal while the Chicken Big Mac will cost £4.49 on its own and £6.09 as a meal.
Chicken Big Mac – 5/5

The McChicken sandwich is usually my go-to, so I wasn’t surprised that I really liked this one.
The Chicken Big Mac is the traditional Big Mac with a twist.
The beef patties are replaced with chicken ones.
Despite this large change, the rest of the burger remains the same with lettuce, gherkins and the famous secret Big Mac Sauce.
Now, it tasted amazing, the sauce to chicken and bread ratio was perfect.
I thought they might use the same amount of mayo as what’s in the mayo chicken but it felt like there was more.
If you do find yourself choosing this one, you may want to avoid eating it in the car, however.
The extra bun made it extremely difficult to eat with lettuce and mayo going everywhere.
The Chicken Big Mac will cost £4.49 on its own and £6.09 as a meal.
Mozzarella dippers – 3/5

A cheese-related option will always go down well.
The return of the mozzarella dippers will make many McDonald’s fans happy.
They’re so cheesy and they really do melt in your mouth, but only if you eat them right away, in my opinion.
I just don’t think they travel as well as the burgers or fries so maybe only get them if you’re eating in.
I also think three isn’t enough, and even four would suffice – especially if you’re wanting to share while avoiding the sharebox.
If McDonald’s could somehow magic up dippers that stay warm and gooey for when they arrive with the delivery that would be great.
The dippers will cost you £2.19 or £6.19 as a sharebox.
Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry – 2/5

Spring has sort of Sprung and many of us will be dreaming of those summer days.
And what comes with hot, sunny days? Ice cream of course.
Now both ice cream products were pretty disappointing.
While I really like the McDonald’s classic whippy ice cream, I don’t want it to be all about that – there was literally no Creme Egg.
If you Google the product, you’ll see bits of chocolate sprinkled on top, but I felt I didn’t really get that.
Of course, ice cream starts to deteriorate within seconds but that doesn’t really excuse the lack of Creme egg.
The ice cream will set you back £1.99 for a regular or £1.49 for a mini.
Cadbury Caramel McFlurry – 2/5

Like with the creme egg ice cream, this one was pretty disappointing.
It tasted great and the bits of caramel I did find were lush.
I just didn’t feel like I was getting much bang for my buck with this one.
The ice cream will set you back £1.99 for a regular or £1.49 for a mini.
It’s important to note though that prices will vary across restaurants so make sure to check before you pay.

And keep in mind, to make room for the incoming items, the following are disappearing from menus today:
- Grand Big Mac
- Grand Big Mac with Bacon
- Chilli Cheese bites
- Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry
- Galaxy Caramel McFlurry
The items were only ever meant to stick around for a limited period as part of the regular McDonald’s menu shakeup.
Also coming today is a brand new game for customers.
Winning Sips offers food fans the chance of winning free cash, free food or even free exclusive McDonald’s merch.
It’s a Monopoly-style game and it’ll be available on stickers on medium and large soft drinks and milkshakes.
The value of the prizes ranges from a couple of pounds up to £10,000.
