Sharing the bathroom’s overhaul online, Alice posted her clip on social media and noted: “POV: You spend all your money on your deposit so you decide to DIY the tiling in your new build.”

At the start of the video, we saw Alice’s plain bathroom, which was in desperate need of some love (and new flooring).

Alice shared her clip with the caption: “Tiling our flooring ourselves for the first time.

“We DIYed the floor tiles in our utility room and downstairs toilet to save [money] and I think it turned out pretty well!

“It was definitely easier than I was expecting once we got the hang of it!’

She then explained: “We sourced these tiles a few weeks before we moved in so we were ready to go once we got the keys.

“Loved this Victorian style to add something different to our empty shell.

“Headed to Screwfix and picked up everything we needed from adhesive and grout to a notched trowel.

“As complete beginners, we relied on YouTube tutorials and basically winged it.”

Alice then shared a step-by-step of the process, as she explained: “Not to future self, quick setting adhesive means you need to move fast.

“We did this after work so it took us a couple of evenings to get the first room done.

“Black grout was definitely a scary step as I thought it might stick to the tiles.

“It took a lot of wipes with the sponge to get clean.”

Once the bathroom was done, Alice then showed off the stunning result and continued: “Repeated into the utility room next door to our W/C so the two spaces felt cohesive.

“A lick of paint to finish the rooms and this is the final result – not perfect but we’re chuffed with our first try at tiling.”

Alice proudly shared a close-up look at her bathroom, which had been given a totally new lease of life, whilst on a budget.

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @alicerosebuttery, has clearly left many very impressed, as it has quickly amassed 34,600 views in just one day.

Social media users were left stunned at the DIY job and many took to the comments to share this.

One person said: “Fab job!”

Another added: “Gorgeous!!!”

A third commented: “Great job! It looks amazing. Must be satisfying once it was done.”
