A GRASS has told how they snitched on their 70-year-old neighbour for watering their lawn during the hosepipe ban.
The gardener – who wants to remain anonymous – is unrepentant after notifying the council when the neighbour hired a gardener to give their grass a sprinkle.

But the snitch, from a cul-de-sac in Sevenoaks, Kent, now under a Thames Water hosepipe ban, believes the threat of fines are doing nothing to stop their usage.
She told i news: “I can’t believe the hypocrisy as she is always the first to tell us when we are not following the rules.
“I was really annoyed as my garden has a lot of fruit and veg that I am growing and am a proud gardener but I can’t use my hosepipe as there is a ban – so why is she allowed to use it?”
The snitch didn’t manage to get any photos as she was scared of getting caught.
But she and her husband consulted other neighbours who she said were equally as angry.
The woman made an anonymous complaint to the council who said they would look into the issue.
But she doesn’t reckon they will do anything about the rule flouter next door.
Despite this, the woman vowed to keep an eye out on her trigger happy neighbour.

She adds that she will “not tolerate anyone breaking the rules” in her cul-de-sac and will take action as it has left her “fuming”.
And she said if it happens again, she will go round and confront the elderly woman.
And even threaten to dob her in to the council for a second time.
Despite the complaints, Brits can still water their lawns and even fill a hot tub thanks to “crazy” loopholes in the hosepipe ban.
Homeowners with newly laid turf can water their grass for up to 28 days after rolling it out, according to The Telegraph.
You can also water potted plants, clean the inside of a boat and even wash a wheelie bin amid the rules according to South East Water.
Caroline Gould, South East Water’s head of legal, said: “The restrictions under the Water Industry Act 1991 apply to domestic swimming and paddling pools, not hot tubs.”
South East Water join, Welsh Water, Southern Water, South West Water and Thames Water in implementing bans.
And Yorkshire Water will follow suit on August 26, with a further 5 million people affected.
It means more than 29.4 million customers across the UK will be prohibited from using hosepipes by the end of the week.
