A MUM ordered a dainty star for her Christmas tree — and received a 2ft roaring T.Rex instead.

But Chloe Hewitt’s seven-year-old dinosaur-mad daughter Skyler loves it so much the family will keep it as their festive centrepiece.

Chloe, 25, and partner Jonathan Mangenot, 37, decided on a rural theme after painting their living room green.

So she picked a glittery 10in “woodland star” for £3.99 from The Range website.

Chloe, from Westbury, Wilts, said: “When the box came I thought, ‘Oh no I’ve ordered a gigantic star’.

“I opened it up, picked up the figure by its belly and it started roaring at me.

“I said to Jonathan, ‘How on earth have they confused a tree topper with a dinosaur?’ But Skyler loves it, and he does blend in.”

The Range confirmed sending the £16.99 Tyrannosaurus by mistake but said the family could keep it along with the original star as a gift.
