I found CASH hidden down cracks of old second-hand sofa when I took it home for a clean – I was only expecting crumbs

A PERSON cleaning their new sofa was expecting to scoop out crumbs and grub – but instead plucked out CASH.

They were just one of dozens who have shared their extraordinary discoveries found inside charity shop items.

Recalling the settee sighting, the finder wrote on the Money Saving Expert blog: “When I was cleaning it down the back of it I found £6.70 in change.

“Totally expected nothing other than crumbs and fluff so this was quite a change pardon the pun.”

Another recalled how they bought a kids board game and were stunned to find the old owners used real money for it.

A third said they didn’t even have to buy a charity shop item to pocket a huge amount of cash.

They explained: “I found 1 x £10 note and 1 x £20 note in the pocket of a coat I was trying on.

“I bought the coat and slipped the £30 into the collecting tin on the counter.”

Another chimed about their chazza shop days: “I helped in one for a while pricing clothes and found a tenner twice.

“Put in the tin, obviously.”

Cash finds are not the only bounty unearthed by charity shop hunters, with some finding life-changing items.

That includes a Cartier watch bought for £10 that later sold for £10,000 after an eagle-eyed shopper spotted its logo.

The 18-carat gold designer wrist wear was found in a bag of donations at a British Heart Foundation in west London.

It was a Tank Française yellow gold model, the same model famously worn by Princess Diana and sold for £9,766 at auction.

While a £276 Asos dress was snapped up for just a tenner by TikTokker Emily Muir.

Other epic finds include a £300 MK handbag bought for a quid in Age UK and £135 Saca La Bestia shorts bagged for just 10p.
