AN Amazon Fire TV Stick user has expressed surprise at a popular streaming app offering free content.

The comments were made on a Reddit forum called r/firetvstick.

This Reddit page is a place for thousands of Amazon Fire TV Stick users to discuss their gadgets and give each other advice.

“I’m setting up a friends firestick and I making it mirror mine but i wanted to see if there were any other good free legal apps for movies and television that i hadnt heard of yet or just forgot.

“I put Tubi, PlutoTV, Freevee, RokuTV, Crackle, and SlingTV(free content). What other apps are you all using?” asked on Reddit user.

“Xumo and Stirr,” one Fire Stick user replied.

“Plex & Peacock have some free content also,” another noted.

“Ooh thats right i have plex too but never use it. and i forgot about the free content on Peacock. Good Call!,” the question-asker replied.

There is a catch to getting free content from Peacock without a subscription.

The streaming service used to offer a free entry-level plan.

If you signed up for the free Peacock plan before February 2023 then you’ll still be able to watch some free content without a subscription.

Plex was also mentioned in the short list of apps on the Reddit forum.

That streaming service is still free and relies on adverts to provide users with free content.

Plex’s app on the Amazon AppStore is extremely popular, with a 4/5 score based on more than 210,000 reviews.

It promises thousands of free movies and TV shows.

“Enjoy everything from Oscar award-winning movies to anime, documentaries, family-friendly shows, and much, much more,” Plex explains.
