A KIDS’ entertainer is having to ditch 1,000 Kinder Eggs he bought for an Easter hunt over salmonella fears.
Radley Mason, 35, had been hoarding them ahead of the event this weekend.
Now, he needs 1,000 more chocolate eggs by Friday.
Radley, who runs Radtastic Theatre, was due to hand out the eggs as part of the Little Red Riding Hood Easter train ride on the Spa Valley Railway from Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
But maker Ferrero has recalled thousands of Kinder Surprise eggs because 63 people, mostly young children, were infected with salmonella.
The outbreak is linked to buttermilk used in a Belgian factory. Radley said: “I was on the phone to them and they said all of them need to be disposed of. I was in shock.”
He has been unable to get a refund from Ferrero.
He added: “It is really good that we found out about the salmonella.
“Now they’re all going to have to go in the bin.”
