A POPULAR restaurant chain has hiked its prices by up to 20% over the last year.
Nando’s has increased the cost of several of its meals again, just a year after an 8% rise, The Mirror reports.
The chicken chain has upped the price of its quarter chicken meal by £1.70 since January last year.
In 2022 Nando’s fans could order the meal for £8.25 with two sides, but now it’ll cost you £9.95 – a 20% increase.
The price of the quarter chicken on its own is now £4.95, up 16% from £4.25.
Chain bosses have said the price hikes are due to a rise in costs, such as of ingredients and running restaurants.
Its half chicken dish was £7.95 in 2022 and £12.45 with two sides .
Now you’ll spend £8.50 or £13.50 with sides – rises of 7% to 8%.
Similarly, a plate of ten chicken wings would have cost diners £10.95 on their own, but now cost £11.75.
With two sides added on, the wings are now priced at £16.75 – up from £15.45 in January 2022.

Meanwhile, the chain’s whole chicken dish has gone up by 3% from £14.50 to £14.95.
The prices for delivery have also shot up.
A full chicken platter to eat at home used to cost £24.95 – the same meal has increased by 11% to £27.75.
Nando’s, which has 457 branches in the UK, has been contacted for comment.
It comes as restaurants have faced increased costs over the past year due to the invasion of Ukraine and rising energy bills.
Some chains have opted to close their doors on certain days to combat the costs.
