APPLE WWDC 2024 – WHAT IS IT?

WWDC – or Worldwide Developers Conference – is an annual Apple event.

It’s aimed at app makers generally, but the main keynote reveals huge upgrades that all Apple fans should find interesting.

WWDC is where Apple announces its major software updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and (newly) visionOS for the Vision Pro headset.

That means you’ll hear about some of the new features coming for free to your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and more.

APPLE WWDC 2024 DATES – WHEN IS IT?

The event is due to take place on June 10, 2024 at the company’s Apple Park HQ in California.

It’ll run right through to June 14, but the main keynote will be delivered by Apple chief Tim Cook on day one of the show.

The keynote will be livestreamed around the world for free.

So you’ll be able to tune in live and catch all the latest updates.

APPLE WWDC 2024 – WHAT TO EXPECT

Apple has confirmed that it will deliver news on software for every major product category.

“We’re so excited to connect with developers from around the world for an extraordinary week of technology and community at WWDC24,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations.

“WWDC is all about sharing new ideas and providing our amazing developers with innovative tools and resources to help them make something even more wonderful.”

Apple will almost certainly use the event to unveil iOS 18 for the iPhone – likely the headline announcement.

This software will likely become available in beta soon after.

But it ultimately won’t arrive on iPhones as part of a general release until September, landing alongside the expected iPhone 16.

It’s unclear exactly what we’ll see from iOS 18.

We’ll likely hear much more about AI and improvements to Siri, given how much has been made of the tech by Apple’s rivals.

And AI boosts will probably be delivered across the entire suite of Apple products.
