WH Smith is to launch new shops called Curi.o.city

The first new store will open in Gatwick airport’s south and normal terminals on March 16.

It will be followed by another store opening in St Pancras railway station in London at the beginning of April.

The new shops will sell gifts, stationary and souvenirs – filling the gap on the high street left by Paperchase.

The Sun has asked WH Smith for a full list of locations where Curi.o.city stores will open.

Paperchase collapsed into administration in February after it failed to find a buyer.

While supermarket giant Tesco stepped up to buy rights to the brand all 106 stores will close forever.

The move put 1,000 jobs at risk, but the exact date on which the closures will take place is yet to be announced.

WH Smith has hired employees from the Paperchase head office and has taken over the store’s concession stand in Selfridges, Manchester, according to reports.
