GIFS are a fun way to communicate with friends and iPhone lets you create one of the moving images in just a few seconds.
All you need to do is follow the steps below.
How to make a GIF on iPhone
A GIF is a photo that is usually animated for a few seconds and moves on a repeated loop.
You can make them on your iPhone Photos app or on an app called GIPHY.
For a GIF that will work on Apple devices open “Photos” and select a “Live Photo” you want to turn into a GIF.
To take a Live Photo you need to click the dotted circular button at the top of your camera app so it turns yellow.
One you’ve selected your Live Photo swipe up on the screen so the moving photo “Effects” option comes up.
Then click “Loop” and you will have created a GIF that will work on Apple devices.
Unfortunately, it will just look like a normal image if you send it to an Android phone.
To make a GIF you can send to all your friends you can use the app GIPHY.
Download GIPHY for free from the App Store, open it and make an account.
Click the green camera icon in the top right hand corner.
You will be given the option to film a GIF right away or select one of your own files from your Library.
Once your happy with your design you can save it to your new GIPHY account and then download it to your phone.
Now you’ll have it saved to send to your friends via Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter or your social media platform of choice.
How to search and send GIFs in WhatsApp
Just follow these steps…
- Open a WhatsApp chat.
- Click the + button.
- Select Photo and Video Library to view your camera roll.
- A small magnifying glass icon with the word GIF should appear in the bottom-left corner.
- Select it to see rows of GIFs.
- Now you can browse or search for specific GIFs.
- To send a GIF, just tap the green arrow once you’ve selected it.
