IN a bid to reduce social pressures, Instagram has a feature that lets you turn off your like count.

This means people viewing your profile can’t see how many likes your posts get and it’s very easy to turn on.

How to hide Instagram like count

You can hide your likes on Instagram before or after sharing a post.

If you want to do it for a post you’ve already put on your feed, find the post and click the three dots in the upper right hand corner.

Then click “Hide Like Count.”

You can put the like count back on in the same way.

Some people should also have a new “Posts” section under their “Settings”.

Click on this and then click  “Hide Like and View Counts” if you don’t want to see like counts on the posts of people you follow.

Instagram previously explained: “We tested hiding like counts to see if it might depressurize people’s experience on Instagram.

“What we heard from people and experts was that not seeing like counts was beneficial for some, and annoying to others, particularly because people use like counts to get a sense for what’s trending or popular, so we’re giving you the choice.”

Facebook is also getting these options.

Instagram continues to work on making its platform a safe space to share content.

It said in a blog post: “What one person wants from their Instagram experience is different from the next, and people’s needs are changing.

“We’ve been working closely with third-party experts to better understand how to empower people, build self-awareness and shape a more positive experience on Instagram.”
