MCDONALD’S Monopoly is an easy way to win great prizes, especially if you’re a fast-food fan – and there’s a way to get an extra play.

It’s on now and lasts for six weeks in total, which takes the game up until October 18.

When you buy items from the fast food giant, you might find hidden prizes on menu items in the form of stickers.

The top prize in the 2022 McDonald’s Monopoly is £100,000 in cash.

Other big prizes include a MINI electric car, a £2k holiday with TUI and a Nintendo Switch from Zavvi.

And now, as long as you have the McDonald’s app, you can get yourself an extra play of monopoly for free.

The extra play comes in the form of a code, which you use at the till to get a free prize.

All you need to do is register for the app – which you can download on the App Store or on Google Play.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll need to allow the app to use your location. It needs this to give you access to MyMcDonald’s Rewards – its loyalty scheme – where you will find the code.

Once you’re all signed up to MyMcDonald’s, just tap where it says ‘Code’ on the bar at the bottom of the screen.

There you will find your own code which you can use once – you’ll need to present it or type it into the checkout before completing your order.

McDonald’s said: “Both existing and new customers who are signed up to My McDonald’s Rewards will also receive a free code to play.

“So, whether you are a MONOPOLY maverick, or a first-time player start playing from 7 September for a chance to win.”

You can usually find codes on food with stickers on – which also offer a second chance to win through Double Peel.

You can also use the app for Double Peel stickers – a new addition to this year’s game.

Once you peel these stickers off your menu item, scan it into the app and you’ll get a chance to win another prize by peeling it a second time on your screen.

Find out exactly how it works here.

Which items should I check stickers for?

Definitely keep note of which items could have stickers on them – if you’re really competitive, it’ll help you decide what to order:

  • Any cold drink
  • Fries
  • McFlurry
  • Big Tasty
  • Big Tasty with Bacon
  • McPlant
  • Big Flavour Wraps
  • The Spicy Veggie Wrap
  • 3 Chicken selects
  • 5 Chicken Selects
  • Chicken Legend
  • Cheese Sharebox
  • Mozzarella Dippers
  • McDonald’s Premium Salad

What prizes can I win?

These are instant win prizes, where you simply peel back the sticker and you can redeem the prize:

  • £2,000 Holiday with TUI
  • £1,000 Cash
  • McDonald’s Gold Card – A Meal Per Week For A Year
  • £200 for Passing Go!
  • Experience Day with Buyagift
  • McDonald’s Bean Bag
  • One4all Paramount+ Annual Subscription
  • £100 Gift Card to Spend with a Variety of Retailers
  • £80 Go Ape Activity Voucher
  • Grind True Wireless Earbuds from Skullcandy
  • Prezzybox £50 Voucher
  • £30 I Saw It First Voucher
  • GLOSSYBOX Beauty Box
  • Hype Backpack
  • Wrappz Personalised Phone Case
  • Choice of Licensed T-Shirt with Zavvi
  • McDonald’s Reusable Water Bottle
  • Pair of Cinema Tickets

But double check to see whether the sticker says “Double Peel” on it – you don’t want to miss out on an extra prize.

The biggest prizes, like the electric car or £100,000 can be won with rare stickers. But you’ll need to collect the other two green stickers along with Bond Street, for instance, for the chance to win an electric MINI.

Here are a list of the nine rare stickers:

Dark blue: Mayfair

Green: Bond Street

Yellow: Coventry Street

Red: Strand

Train stations: Liverpool St Station

Orange: Marlborough Street

Light blue: Euston Road

Pink: Northumberland Avenue

Brown: Old Kent Road

These are the same every year. But keep a stern eye out – there are only five Mayfair tickets in circulation, for example, so they don’t come by often.

If you’re heading to your nearest McDonald’s soon, you can check where that is using this handy restaurant locator.
