PAYPAL is giving tens of thousands of users £5 for free – but only if they download its app.

You need to act fast though as the offer is only available to the first 96,000 users who put the app on their phone.

Paypal is offering £5 to a limited number of users who download the app.

PayPal lets you transfer money or make purchases online such as with Argos, Asos or Boots.

You can also use it to make contactless payments with your phone when shopping at store till points.

Paypal is offering £5 to a limited number of lucky users who get sent an exclusive link to download its app.

It follows a similar offer made to 20,000 customers in March.

Unfortunately you won’t be able to get the fiver if you don’t get sent the link this time.

Check your emails to see if you have been sent the offer and sign up quickly – PayPal said you won’t be able to redeem the offer after the limit of 96,000 has been reached.

If you have the email, click the link and you will need to login through a smartphone with your username and password.

You can then download the app to you phone from either Apple’s app store if you have an iPhone or the Google Play store with Android phones.

This needs to be done by August 31 to get the fiver.

The money will be sent one week after the link has been clicked and as long as the app has been downloaded.

PayPal said users must be over 18 and you can only claim the reward once.

The money will be added to your PayPal balance and you can spend it as you wish or withdraw it by sending it to your linked bank account.

Last year, PayPal launched a new phone-to-phone contactless payment app to help people go cash free during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, PayPal now charges “inactive” customers £9 a year if they don’t use their accounts.

If you get an email that looks like it’s from PayPal, be aware of the scam that has targeted thousands of Brits.
