WITH Christmas Day just around the corner, many of us are starting to feel the pinch.
Fortunately, a new campaign from Lidl means that you can get £10 off a £40 shop, helping to slash the cost of the festive period.
Between the cost of Christmas dinner itself, buying presents for all the family, and decorating the house, December is often the most expensive time of the year.
Lidl’s multimillion pound campaign allows shoppers to enjoy £10 off their shop, which can be put towards groceries, as well as presents and stocking fillers from the Middle of Lidl.
You can find the vouchers in either the Sun or the Times newspapers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week.
Each voucher is valid from December 10, 2020, until the close of business on December 18, 2020.
The vouchers must be presented at the time of purchase at the till and they are only valid when you spend £40 or more in a single transaction.
You can only use one voucher per transaction, so if you collect more, you’ll need to do multiple shops to redeem them.
If you use the Lidl Plus rewards scheme, your minimum spend must meet £40 after those discounts have been applied.
Copied, damaged, online printouts or defaced vouchers will not be accepted and only original vouchers are valid.
Unfortunately alcohol will not be included, so you need to spend more than £40 on other things.
The offer is valid in all UK stores, excluding Northern Ireland. There are over 600 across the UK and you can find your nearest using the store locator.
The announcement of the scheme follows the discounter’s recent pledge to return over £100m in business rates relief to the UK government.
Christian Härtnagel, Lidl GB CEO said: “This year has been one like no other and has understandably left people feeling uncertain.
“Through this campaign, however, one thing you can be sure of is that Lidl will… offer the lowest prices on the market, whilst giving you a little bit extra this Christmas.”
LIDL, Pets at Home and B&M have joined the UK’s major supermarkets in repaying business rates relief worth billions of pounds in total.
