IS your iPhone alarm always too loud? There’s a way to fix it.

If you’ve ever tried to reduce alarm noise with the volume down button, you’ll have noticed a big issue.

There's an easy way to adjust your alarm's din – including with your iPhone volume buttons

When you do that, it actually just snoozes the alarm.

So shortly after (and every day) you’ll be awoken by the same overly-loud alarm noise.

Thankfully, Apple has built a feature into the iPhone that rectifies this.

And it’s already proving popular.

The trick was shared by TikTok creator Scott Polderman, where it’s earned around 2,000 likes.

There are two key ways to do it.

First, head into Settings > Sound & Haptics.

Then look under Ring and Alerts for a slider.

You can drag this slider left or right to set the volume.

As you drag the slider, an alert will sound so that you can hear how it changes.

But you can also turn on Change With Buttons in the same menu.

This will finally allow you to use your volume buttons on the iPhone to change alarm volume.

Of course, that means volume-down will no longer snooze the alarm.

But you can still temporarily silence an iPhone alarm by tapping the big Snooze button that appears on your home screen anyway.

It may be worth browsing through different alarm tones, too.

Some alarm sounds are less annoying than others, so try to pick one that will wake you up peacefully.

But make sure you don’t have an alarm that’s too quiet or zen, otherwise you could end up oversleeping.
