WASHINGTON—House Democrats plan to fast-track a vote on relaxing regulations regarding baby formula in an effort to boost availability, as Capitol Hill moved more urgently to address recent shortages.
“It is unconscionable and tragic that, right now, families cannot find safe, affordable baby formula,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) said in a letter to colleagues announcing a vote next week. “Right now the babies are crying and the babies are hungry—so we must take urgent action.”
