Now that summer has arrived, many of us will be spending time in the garden.

A popular piece of outdoor furniture at the moment is the egg chair, which shoppers have been lapping up from all sorts of stores.

And Homebase is currently selling one for £170, down from £250 – that’s an £80 saving.

The chair is a single size and comes with a seat cushion and pillow headrest.

Fans of the chair have shared their excitement.

One wrote: “Already in my garden completes my raised borders and planting beautifully.

“A lovely finishing touch. Cushions very comfy. My whippet dog keeps trying to get on it. Very good price.”

While another said: “Very comfortable. Easy to assemble. Lovely cushion and headrest. Wife loves relaxing in it. Great purchase.”

A third added: “Just love this hanging chair its so comfy and i like the fact that it folds flat for storage.”

At the time of writing the chair was in stock online, but only for click and collect.

So you’ll want to make sure you can get to a Homebase first.

It might be worth checking at your local store too – you can find yours via the store locator online.

We recommend calling in advance to check stock in order to avoid any disappointment.

Remember it’s always best to shop around to make sure you are getting the cheapest deal.

We checked other retailers to see what they were charging for similar items.

If you don’t live near a Homebase then Wowcher is selling a similar one online, but for £129.

While Robert Dyas was selling a freestanding one (not hanging) for £159.99.

Homebase is the cheapest one we could find though, when we checked.

But you can compare the cost of similar products from other retailers using price comparison tools like Google Shopping.

And remember it’s only a good deal if it is something you were searching for, you are not saving money if you didn’t need it in the first place.

Egg chairs are a popular garden item among shoppers.

Just last month, B&M shoppers were lapping up its hanging egg chair after it cut the price by £50.

The retailer was selling the New York Hanging Egg Chair for just £100 – down from £150.

It has a rattan effect frame and comes with comfy cushions making it the perfect way to hang around and relax in the garden.

Before that, supermarket Lidl slashed the price of its own chair by 20%.
