The Queen’s funeral has been declared a Bank Holiday.

It is down to individual businesses to decide whether or not to close on the day – but many are choosing to do so in honour of the Queen.

Here’s everything you need to know about if Homebase will be open during the bank holiday.

Is Homebase open over the September Bank Holiday?

Homebase will close all of its 159 stores on the day of the Queen’s funeral.

A spokesperson for Homebase said: “We join the country in mourning the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II and will be closing our stores.”

Store opening hours usually vary between 9am-6pm, 10am-4pm and 9am-7pm.

How can I find opening hours for my local store?

Although Homebase stores will be closed on Monday, you can still find out where your nearest one is in preparation for when stores reopen on Tuesday.

The best way to find out if your nearest branch is open is to head online and use its store checker tool.

The company has a page dedicated to information on its individual branches.

Are there deliveries over the Bank Holiday?

Homebase will pause all home deliveries during the Bank Holiday.

That means you won’t get your haul delivered on Monday.

Homebase offers a range of delivery services normally – including next or named-day delivery.

This means if something in the store is too bulky for you to take home, you can order online or in-store and have it brought to you.

Delivery can cost extra – depending on how big your items are.

And Homebase doesn’t deliver on Sundays throughout the year.

What bank holidays are left in 2022?

The final hols of the year take place at the end of the year, including Monday, December 26 – Boxing Day.

There isn’t a bank holiday on Christmas Day itself, although there’s a substitute day this year on Tuesday, December 27.

Substitute holidays are used when a bank holiday falls on a weekend.

Employers don’t have to give you paid leave on bank or public holidays.
