IF you fancy doing a spot of DIY over the festive break and need some supplies, it’s a good idea to check when shops are open.

DIY and homeware stores have been confirmed as essential retailers and are allowed to stay open in Tier 4 areas.

But opening and closing times over Christmas and New Year could vary from normal timings shoppers are familiar with.

Homebase, which has over 150 stores, is one retailer changing some of its opening and closing times over the break.

Here’s all you need to know about when you can shop:

What are Homebase’s opening hours for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

On Christmas Eve, all of Homebase’s stores will open at 9am and close at 4pm. 

All stores will close on Christmas Day.

What are Homebase’s opening hours for Boxing Day until New Year?

Homebase stores will remain closed on Boxing Day. 

But stores will open as usual on the 27th December from 10am to 4pm, and from the 28th December until the 30th, will open from 9am to 6pm.

What are Homebase’s opening hours over New Year?

On New Year’s Eve, stores will open at 9am, but close earlier at 4pm.

Shops across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will open at 10am and close at 4pm on New Year’s Day, while stores in Scotland will remain closed.
