The new Prime Hydration drink is currently flying off the shelves at the bargain retailer as it scans for just £1.99 at tills.

The flavour is described as “Goalberry” but many excited fans of the popular drink have labelled it as having a mixed berry taste.

The 500ml bottle is wrapped in Arsenal red and gold just like their home kit for this season.

Prime has been the official hydration partner of Arsenal this season as brand partner KSI is a huge fan of the North London club.

The bottles are only currently being stocked in stores in and around London.

Shoppers have also seen them being sold in Sports Direct and Morrisons.

Thousands of shoppers were left rushing to their local stores after news of the bottles being sold were shared on Facebook.

Over 6,000 people left comments under one of the announcement posts with many begging their pals to go and buy the drink.

But several other football fanatics took their opportunity to ridicule Arsenal and their supposed “bottlers” mentality.

I’m a nutritionist – here’s my verdict on the Prime drink and why you shouldn’t give it to your child

One made a clever comment saying: “Arsenal – Bottle. Ironic”

As a second said: “Arsenal bottlers living up to their name… a bottle of their fans tears.”

Before a third wrote online: “Bottled in April – that’s quite fitting and familiar.”

Arsenal being “bottlers” is a reference to the team’s Premier League title challenge last season where they failed to beat treble winners Manchester City despite leading the league for a record 248 days.

Arsenal went on to lose the league by five points after a miserable run of form in April that saw them draw to Liverpool, West Ham and bottom placed Southampton.

Before title rivals Manchester City tore through Mikel Arteta‘s men with a four – one win.

Another loss to Brighton in May sealed their fate as runners up leaving many opposing fans to label them as “bottlers” for their dismal end to a thrilling season.

THE HISTORY OF PRIME

The drink first grew in popularity after YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI came together after being fierce boxing rivals in 2019.

They came up with the idea for a coconut water-based drink and named it Prime Hydration.

During a live stream, the pair said they wanted to “rival the biggest companies on Earth” with the product – including “Pepsi, Coke, Gatorade and Powerade”.

The duo have advertised their Prime Hydration brand as “when rivals come together as brothers and business partners to fill the void where great taste meets function”.

According to the manufacturers, Prime contains 10 per cent coconut water, electrolytes, B Vitamins and BCAAs.

It has zero sugar or caffeine and only around 20 calories per bottle.

The drink was brought out by a company called Congo Brands, promoted by Logan Paul and KSI.

It now comes in several colourful flavours including Meta Moon, Ice Pop, Cherry Freeze, Blue Raspberry, Tropical Punch. Lemon Lime, Grape, Orange, Glowberry, Strawberry Watermelon and the new Arsenal version.

When it first hit shelves in the UK a surge in demand for the product caused huge lines of customers queueing outside corner shops and supermarkets.

It was not long before supplies of the product ran out everywhere, even on the company’s website.

This led to some unscrupulous customers looking to sell the drink online for £20-25 per bottle.

Some bottles were even being flogged for over £50,000 on Ebay.

They have since gone on to release Prime Energy – a high caffeine, energy drink alternative to the hydration version.
