JCB is on another recruitment drive as the construction boom sends demand for its machines to ‘historic highs’.
The digger maker is hiring 100 welders for its factories in Staffordshire.
They will be the latest high-skilled recruits in a hiring spree this year that has seen the company take on 1,350 new shop floor employees and hand permanent contracts to 1,000 agency workers.

JCB was founded in 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford, the father of executive chairman and prominent Brexit campaigner Lord Bamford.
He and his family are estimated to have a £4.6billion fortune.
JCB has 14,000 employees in 14 countries and brought in revenues of more than £4billion in 2019 before the pandemic hit.
The company has trained almost 70 welding apprentices over the last three years.
Operating chief Mark Turner said: ‘Over the past five years the number of welders in the UK has shrunk, which presents businesses with a big challenge.’
