From Japanese pud Mochi, and traditional saké and cherry blossom-flavoured tipples, to a health-and-fitness offer, and coffee treats, there is something for all.

CHEERS, EVERYONE: Aldi has launched its own saké for the Olympics.

The Sawanotsuru saké is £4.99 for 30cl and lands in stores today. It looks very similar to Yamahai Daiginjo saké, currently on sale at Selfridges for £18.99. I know which I will be buying.

MOCHI ADO: This sweet treat made from rice flour is now easily available in the UK.

Pick up Little Moons’ mochi ice-cream balls in new flavours Eton Mess and Candy Floss.

Check the company’s Instagram account @littlemoonsmochi over the next few weeks because from August 4 it will be at seaside spots handing out freebies.

Also keep checking the freezers at Lidl, which has its own Vitasia mochi ice-cream balls for just £2.99 a pop. They are available in mango, vanilla, chocolate and coconut flavours.

CHERRY GOOD DEAL: The national flower of Japan is cherry blossom, so why not try Beauties’ cherry blossom-scented anti-bacterial hand cream at Poundstretcher.co.uk for £1.49?

Or Lidl has Hortus World Botanicals’ new cherry-blossom gin for £17.99, while Marks & Spencer cherry blossom- flavoured gin-liqueur glitter globe is £17. Similar from specialist brands can cost upward of £40.

COMPETE AT HOME: The Great Outdoor Gym Company is giving Marks & Spencer customers free or discounted exercise classes and health and well-being courses.

You get 50 per cent off all health and wellbeing courses, ranging from £5-6, and £25 worth for free, plus you can participate in workouts at TGO’s outdoor gyms or in the great outdoors.

For details, see marksandspencer.com.

UP FOR THE CUPPA: As an official sponsor of Tokyo 2020, Costa has a new line of “at home” products.

Why not try its Signature latte blend, or Signature Blend ground coffee?

Make a purchase, enter your details at costa.co.uk and you could win one of thousands of Olympic-themed prizes.
