WHEN it’s cold outside there’s not much better than getting cosy with your family and settling in with a Christmas movie and a hot chocolate.

These adorable snowman hot chocolate jars are the perfect thing for those fun-filled festive evenings – and they make great gifts too. Plus, if you’re feeling really crafty you could even create the ultimate hot chocolate station in your own living room.

Here’s what you’ll need…

A large recycled jar

White chocolate hot chocolate mix

White mini marshmallows

A handful of buttons (£3.25 from Wilko)

White cardboard

Felt tip pens (£2.75 from Wilko)

Ribbon (£2 from Wilko)

Hot glue gun

Here’s what you need to do…

  1. Fill your jar about 3 quarters with the white hot chocolate mix, then top with the marshmallows
  2. Glue 3 buttons to the front of the jar to make the snowman’s buttons
  3. Tie some ribbon around the top of the jar to create the snowman’s scarf
  4. Cut a circle out of white card and draw on a mouth, eyes and a carrot nose
  5. Glue the circle to the ribbon

Now you’ve got your hot chocolate jar, you can create your ultimate hot chocolate station!

We started off with this fabulous tray table from Wilko (£16). Pop your jars onto the tray, and add some more jars which you can fill with other toppings of your choice.

We love these candy canes (£1), or you could also choose sprinkles, or cinnamon sticks. Make sure to tie ribbon around these jars for some added festive cheer.

No hot chocolate station is complete without snacks. Your favourite treats will look great on these Christmas tree plates (£2.50). The only question now is to dunk or not to dunk!

Of course, you’ll need something special to drink out of. You can pick up these fun festive mugs from Wilko for just £2.50 each.

Get crafty with the kids and make a sign for your station – we recommend using a chalkboard (£5.50) so you can use it again and again.

When you’ve got everything you need, add some final flourishes, like tinsel (£1) or LED fairy lights (£4) – it’s never too much at Christmas!
