HEINZ is serving up Christmas dinner in a tin.

Its new soup has turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets along with sprouts, spuds, gravy and cranberry sauce.

Just 500 cans will be produced but bosses have hinted they could up the number next year if the soup is a hot seller.

The launch of Heinz Christmas Dinner Big Soup comes after 42 per cent of people in a survey said they would plump for the festive meal more often if only it did not take so long to cook.

And 36 per said it was the cost of the feast that held them back.

Heinz Soups brand manager Anke von Hanstein said: “It is made for those with a big love for hearty festive flavours and tastes just perfect with a slice of warm crusty bread.

“Any soup that includes pigs in blankets and roasties is a winner in our eyes.”

The cans are available from today at Heinztohome.co.uk/Christmas for £1.50, plus postage and packing.

Last month, Heinz announced it was bringing back its range of Christmas gifts including ketchup crackers, baked beans baubles, a festive jumper and personalised bottles of tomato sauce.
