Toy shop Hamleys reckons both are capitalising on the social media “unboxing” trend — with accessories that can be individually unwrapped again and again.

Hot on the heels of the Barbie movie, the Barbie Pop Reveal doll comes in four different smells and even has a bag of slime. LOL Magic Flyers have a light-up box which releases the flying dolls into the air.
Hamleys says it is aware of cost pressures on adults, so starts its top ten list with the £18 Marvel character TY Squish-A-Boos beanie toys.
Store head buyer Victoria Kay said: “We’ve closely observed the trends and we’re confident our choices embody the essence of Christmas and offer everyone the opportunity to discover their new favourite toy.”
