GREGGS is planning to open more cafes inside Primark stores across the UK.

The bakery chain is reportedly plotting new branches following the success of its collaboration with the budget fashion brand.

The two businesses teamed up last month to launch a cafe and a clothing range.

Greggs opened its biggest ever branch inside the UK’s largest Primark, which is in Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre.

Meanwhile, Primark released an 11-piece wardrobe, emblazoned with the fast food chain’s logo.

The bakery’s boss Roger Whiteside said this week that the company is always looking to expand into busy areas.

That includes Primark’s 180 stores as well as continuing to open new branches in supermarkets.

“We’re on the lookout continuously for putting Greggs shops wherever there are lots of people away from home, so we’re opening up in supermarkets, and Primark, and we’ll open up anywhere else that’s busy enough,” he told Chronicle Live.

“It’s got off to a great start,” he added.

“We hope that in the months ahead as both of us look to evaluate how it’s done that it becomes something that might mean Primark let us open up in a few more.”

Mr Whiteside didn’t name any potential locations and Greggs did not respond to requests for further comment.

Primark’s Greggs 11 piece clothing range included bakery branded hoodies and sausage roll print pants.

Shoppers queued in the wind and rain to snap up the items, with stock selling out and appearing on eBay at hiked up prices within minutes.

Gregg’s revealed earlier this week that it’s planning to open 150 new stores this year.

It also said it will have to hike the price of sausage rolls and other pastry products due to rising ingredient costs.
