In August Greggs revealed it had shut 44 shops in the first half of the year, but had opened 94 branches over the same time frame including three outlet stores.

While the high street has generally struggled since the pandemic with huge numbers of store closures, Greggs has continued to expand rapidly in the first half of this year.

Meanwhile, the popular bakery giant revealed it will be giving away free pizza to new customers who download its app between now and October 16.

Foodies can choose from margherita, pepperoni, spicy Mexican chicken, pepperoni hot shot or spicy veg, which normally cost up to £2.65.

This is just based on one branch’s prices though – you may pay more or less for a slice depending on where you live.
