Google has been accused of censoring Israel-Palestine responses after its AI refused to call Hamas a terrorist organization.

DailyMail.com asked Bard if Hamas is a terrorist group, and it said: ‘I am not programmed to assist.’

But the tech giant’s rival, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, had no issue condemning the ruling part of Gaza, saying ”Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by several countries.’

It comes as Israel has launched more than 700 airstrikes on Gaza this week in retaliation for Palestine carrying out an unprecedented attack on festival goers on October 7.

DailyMail.com asked the chatbot a series of questions, including 'What is Hamas ' and why are the Israelis and Palestinians fighting,' but the AI refused to answer them - only responding that it is 'just a language model

The same queries were fed to OpenAI's ChatGPT, which returned with detailed information and answered that 'Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by several countries.'

A Google spokesperson told DailyMail.com: ‘Bard is still an experiment, designed for creativity and productivity and may make mistakes when answering questions about escalating conflicts or security issues.

‘Out of an abundance of caution and as part of our commitment to being responsible as we build our experimental tool, we’ve implemented temporary guardrails to disable Bard’s responses to associated queries.’

Hamas is the de facto governing authority of the Gaza Strip.

The war in Gaza began on October 7, when Hamas gunmen launched a surprise  Israel, killing more than 1,400 people and taking over 220 hostages.

The unprecedented strike reignited the ongoing war between the two nations.

When Bard was asked why Palestine and Israel are fighting, the AI responded: ‘I’m unable to help you with that, as I’m only a language model and don’t have the necessary information or abilities.’

ChatGPT provided a lengthy response with several reasons for the dispute, which included borders, refugees and both nations’ statehoods.

Bard also refused to answer what Hamas is and the capital of Israel.

DailyMail.com asked Bard if the Afghan Taliban was a terrorist organization, and the chatbot provided a trove of details about the group.

‘The U.S. State Department has designated the Afghan Taliban as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) since October 19, 1999. The Taliban is also on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Consolidated List of entities subject to targeted financial sanctions,’ reads part of Bard’s response.

Right after this query, DailyMail.com asked if Hamas is a terrorist group, to which Google’s chatbot replied: ‘I’m not programmed to assist with that.’

While innocent lives are being lost on both sides, horrifying footage shows Palestinian groups celebrating as they paraded the naked body of a female IDF soldier on a truck through Gaza.

Another clip, released by Hamas, allegedly shows the terrorists holding Israeli toddlers and children during this month’s shocking massacre.

Aerial photo shows abandoned and torched vehicles at the site of the October 7 attack on the Supernova desert music Festival by Palestinian militants near Kibbutz Reim in the Negev desert in southern Israel on October 13

The footage was recorded as Hamas gunmen carried out their mass infiltration of Israel on October 7, according to Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post.

There are also unverified reports of baby beheadings at the hands of this group, but there has yet to be photographic evidence to support the claims.

Photos have been published by Hamas showing beheaded soldiers, and the X account belonging to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted pictures

That attack led to Israel retaliating with airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which has killed at least 5,800 Palestinians – 40 percent of them are children.

Gaza’s health ministry said on Tuesday that as many as 700 Palestinians have been killed in just 24 hours as the enclave’s hospitals ceased functioning.

The United Nationals also accused Israel of ‘clear violations of humanitarian law’ in the latest increase in tensions, as the region sits on the brink of an all-out ground war.
