GOOGLE has alerted all Chrome users about a new update arriving today.

The important Google Chrome update fixes 26 vulnerabilities in the popular web browser – one of which is “critical”.

Google Chrome is one of the world’s most-used browsers.

Billions of people use it, so any bugs can have serious consequences.

That’s why Google regularly delivers software updates.

Sometimes these add new features, but often they’ll patch security holes.

This helps keep hackers from breaking into your device.

Google is now rolling out the latest version of Chrome.

It’s called Chrome 97.0.4692.99, and fixes 26 different issues in the browser.

One of the vulnerabilities – named CVE-2022-0289 – is rated as “critical”.

That’s the most severe possible rating that Google can give an issue with its browser.

How to update Google Chrome

If you have automatic updates turned on, you’ll likely receive the new software soon.

But you can also manually update, giving you the earliest possible chance to get the new release.

Go into your Settings Menu, then Help and then About Google Chrome.

You’ll be able to see your current Chrome version.

So if it says Chrome 97.0.4692.99 or later, then you’re fine.

But if you’re using an older version, Chrome should automatically check for updates and highlight that.

Then you can download and install the new version.

You’ll need to restart your browser once the installation is done to complete the process.

Updating your Google Chrome regularly is important to keep your devices secure.
