GOOGLE’S brand new Pixel smartphone packed many punches when it was unveiled earlier this month.

But fans of the Android device have noticed that a favourite feature is mysteriously missing from the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

And Pixel loyalists are not impressed.

Photo Spheres were introduced way back in 2012 when the Pixels first started.

Many saw it as a more advanced way of doing panoramic shots.

You could make immersive memories of locations with a full 360-degree view of your surroundings.

Dots would appear on screen guiding you were to turn the phone.

The feature still exists on previous models but users are worried it could disappear in a future update.

“It was a great way to catch expensive, scenic views (in a cathedral, a town square, etc ),” one user said.

“I didn’t use it a lot but, when I used it, I truly wanted it-and it worked very well. I’m extremely disappointed.”

Another added: “shame, I quite liked using photo sphere now and then.”

A third commented: “Completely baffling.”

The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro were revealed on October 4.

Both models flaunt the same 50-megapixel wide camera on their backs.

On the standard Pixel 8 it’s paired with a 12-megapixel ultra wide camera.

But on the Pro, users get two additional cameras instead.

There’s the 48-megapixel ultra wide camera, as well as a 48-megapixel telephoto shooter than offers an iPhone 15 Pro Max-style 5x optical zoom.

You’ll also get the same 10.5-megapixel selfie camera on the front with a 95-degree ultra wide field of view.
