Thousands welcome verdict in Athens after biggest trial of fascists since Nuremberg
A Greek court has ruled that the far-right Golden Dawn party was operating as a criminal organisation, delivering a landmark guilty verdict more than five years after leaders and party members of the neo-fascists went on trial.
The court ruled that seven of the party’s former MPs, including its leader, Nikos Michaloliakos, were guilty of leading a criminal organisation, while the others were found guilty of participating in a criminal organisation.
