BOOHOO.COM has left customers fuming after forcing them to wait days for orders to arrive despite paying for next day delivery.

The online fashion giant charges £5.99 if customers want items to arrive the following day, as long as orders are placed before 10pm.

The retailer has currently slashed prices by up to 80%

The cheaper option is standard delivery, which can take up to five working days, and costs £3.99 – £2 less than the next day service.

But shoppers are complaining they are still waiting for items ordered earlier this week to arrive, even though they paid for the premium service.

Many shoppers rushed online this week after Boohoo.com slashed prices by up to 80%.

But the delays have left some demanding refunds for the poor service.

One person wrote on Twitter: “Order stuff on @boohoo with next day delivery. It’s not [here] three days later, no scans on the package since dispatch and they expect me to wait until the 14th to see if it shows up!

“Refund me my money or resend my order. I selected next day delivery for a reason!”

Shaniqua said: “I would like that £5.99 back that I spent on a next day delivery that didn’t happen.”

Another said: “@boohoo made an order on Wednesday for next day delivery and paid for next day.

“Placed the order before the deadline of 10 o’clock. Still not received my order. Will I get a refund?”

Today, Sarah wrote she is still waiting for an order to arrive four days after selecting next day delivery.

“If you’re not going to deliver then just let me know so I can order from somewhere else,” she wrote.

“The second day in a row I’ve had a text to say it’s going to be delivered within two hours and then isn’t!”

Can I return a Christmas order that arrives late?

IT can be really frustrating if you order a Christmas present and it doesn’t arrive on time.

If you want to return your gift, for example, because you had to buy something else, we explain your rights.

For presents ordered by the store’s last delivery date – the one it advertises online – you will be entitled to your money back if you no longer want the item.

You’ll need to have proof of when you placed your order, such as an email confirmation.

The retailer will also expect you to return the item. According to Resolver, the store you purchased the product from will usually be responsible for covering return costs, but this does depend on its terms and conditions, so read carefully.

If you want to keep the gift, you may be able to claim back some cash from the delivery costs. Contact the retailer to see what it can offer you.

If you paid extra for specific-day delivery, and it arrived after this date, the retailer should off you money back on the delivery cost.

Or at the very least, you’ll get the difference in price between its standard delivery and premium delivery.

Megs said: “Imagine paying £5.99 for next day delivery and it doesn’t even arrive or get dispatche duntil the day of delivery.

“@boohoo never been let down. Won’t be paying for next day ever again.”

J said they were offered a £2 refund, taking the next day delivery charge down to the same as standard delivery, to make up for the delays.

They wrote: “DID I ASK FOR STANDARD DELIVERY YOU IDIOTS?!”

It comes as retailers including Topshop and Superdry bring forward Christmas last-order days and warn of delivery delays.

It’s estimated an extra 200million parcels are being processed this year as customers turn to online shopping amid the coronavirus outbreak.

But the delivery system is struggling to cope with the influx, despite huge recruitment drives from services such as Post Office, Amazon, Yodel and Hermes.

Retailers should offer customers a refund if they paid extra for specific-day delivery and it arrived after this.

Consumers also have the right to return an item they ordered online if they no longer want it in exchange for a full refund.

They must be returned within 14 days of it being delivered and still be in the condition that arrive in.

The Sun has asked Boohoo.com whether it will be offering customers a refund for the delivery charges. It has not responded for comment.

Boohoo.com is rumoured to be eyeing up buying the Topshop brand after its owner Arcadia Group went into administration on Monday.

PrettyLittleThing – which is also owned by Boohoo.com – left shoppers fuming after missing out on a flash Black Friday sale of up to 99% off.

The online fashion retailer dropped the bargain offers on its website around midnight, but they quickly sold out.
