Full list of shops, venues and pubs where you’ll need a vaccine passport

THE Prime Minister announced yesterday that vaccine passports will be required for large, crowded events.

Nightclubs and football games are among the events that will require punters to show proof of their vaccination status before entry.

Previously, proof of a vaccine was only needed to travel abroad or in some venues that had decided to use them.

But from Monday, you’ll have to show your Covid certification at almost all large events, or you could be refused entry.

You can either demonstrate that you have had two vaccinations or provide proof of a negative test.

The update on passports was made as Boris Johnson announced England will move to Plan B coronavirus restrictions.

This also includes requiring face coverings to be worn in more public places such as cinemas and asking people to work from home if they can.

Where will I need a Covid vaccine passport?

Whether you need a Covid vaccine passport depends on the size of the event and whether it is taking place indoors and outdoors.

You will need to show Covid certification to attend all indoor events with more than 500 people, which will include concerts and large weddings and parties.

Major business events and nightclubs will also be covered by the rules.

You’ll need a Covid passport at “crowded” outdoor venues where more than 4,000 people gather, such as music festivals.

Any event with a crowd of more than 10,000 people will require a Covid pass, meaning the new rules will include many sports fixtures.

Where won’t I need a Covid vaccine passport?

You currently don’t need a Covid passport to enter pubs, restaurants or shops.

Pub chains Fullers and Young’s both confirmed that there is no need for punters to prove their Covid status before entry.

Supermarkets Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s said they will continue to follow government guidance, which does not require them to ask shoppers for vaccine passports.

Wilko said it has no plans to introduce passports and John Lewis said it will also continue to stick to government health advice.

There is also no law requiring you to have a vaccine passport to enter other public places such as gyms, cinemas, places of worship or hairdressers.

Currently, they are just being used for larger events.
