SOME 90 bank branches across the UK are closing their doors within the next few weeks.
The closures come as more people turn to online and mobile banking.

Data from the UK’s largest cash machine network, LINK, shows which banks have publicly announced in 2022 that they’ll be closing their branches.
The Sun found that there are 90 planned closures happening between and now and the end of August alone.
Barclays is set to close 18 branches and Lloyds is set to put the shutters up at 14 of their branches.
Other big banks planning to shut shop include HSBC, which is set to close 30 branches.
HSBC announced the closure of 69 bank branches earlier this year – it had already shut 82 branches last year.
Typically if there are no banks in a town, you should be able to do some basic banking in your local post office.
Many banks also offer a mobile banking service.
This is where your bank brings a bus to your local area that has the services that are usually available at your branch.

You should call up your bank to see if its runs a banking bus and they will be able to tell you where and when it will be parked.
Other banks use buildings such as a village hall or library to offer mobile banking services.
“This closure of bank branches really does have an impact on everyone from smaller businesses to older or more vulnerable people,” consumer expert Martyn James told The Sun.
“Bank branches matter because they contain staff with links to the community who have wide ranging knowledge about a range of financial matters.”
