Stealth mode: On!
Want to sneak your way to a place without leaving digital tracks? Turn on Incognito mode in Google Maps. This way, the app won’t record your stop.
Using Waze? You’re probably showing up on its public map. To make this stop, open Waze, tap Settings > Privacy and turn on Go Invisible.
Command with your voice
Why fumble with your phone when behind the wheel? Use your voice instead.
Start with a ‘Hey Siri’ or ‘OK, Google’ and then:
● ‘Guide me to [Destination].’
● ‘Take me home.’
● ‘Where am I right now?’
● ‘ETA, please?’
● ‘Locate the nearest gas station.’
● ‘Are we there yet?’ (OK, that was a fun one. Did you smile?)
Pump savings alert
The navigation tool Waze uses crowdsourcing, allowing the public to share gas prices along routes
Hate overpaying for gas? Waze helps you scout the best deals in town.
The Magic Move:
● Fire up Waze.
● Tap Where to? and pick the Gas stations icon.
● Voilà! Nearby options with pricing.
Prices come from the community. So, in busy areas, you’re likely spot on. Elsewhere, they might not always be up to date.

Apple Maps, like that friend with a steel-trap memory, recalls all. If you want to clear your tracks, here’s the magic trick:
● Open Apple Maps and give a little swipe up.
● Spot your Recents? Swipe left on a place and hit Delete.
● For a full-blown memory wipe, hit More next to Recents and clear the desired time frame.

The Magic Move:
After parking, tap the blue dot (your location) on Google Maps. Then, choose Save Parking. Want a parking timer? Tap the search bar and then the Parking location. To add a photo or note, tap More info. You can add a message reminding you when the meter needs more money.

A short history of GPS
The Global Positioning System (GPS) originated in the early 1970s, spearheaded by the U.S. Department of Defense. Its primary purpose was to provide accurate, real-time navigation information for military operations. The system was designed to rely on a constellation of 24 satellites in medium Earth orbit, covering the entire globe.
