At Specsavers, you can pick out a pair of prescription glasses and get a free second pair of sunglasses as part of its “buy one pair, get the second free” deal. Vision Express will offer 50 per cent off your second pair, too.

Primark has some metal-rimmed hexagonal sunnies for £3, which are so similar to the popular £137 Ray-Ban version. Asda has pairs from a bargain £4 and Morrisons has Prada dupes for £3. At TK Maxx, get labels for 60 per cent off the RRP.
If you have built up your Boots Advantage card points, use them on shades from the likes of Ted Baker and Karen Millen.
