IT’S a great weekend of fun, food and frolicking.
But when the Jubilee partying winds down, you might be wondering what to do with all your leftovers.
From booze to bunting, here’s how to use them and save…
GRILL SKILL: If you’ve been grilling up a storm, there’s a chance you might have leftover meat. Don’t bin it though. First, make sure it’s stored correctly by cooling to room temp before storing in the fridge.
Leftover burgers can be crumbled into chili or bolognese, strip chicken wings and drumsticks into pasta bakes and pork works in tacos or fajitas.
IT’S A ROLLOVER: Overdid it on the sausage rolls? Party snacks can be repurposed for kids’ packed lunches. Cool sausage rolls and freeze.
Crisps can be crushed and used as a coating for chicken before frying. Tortilla chips can make a great nachos dinner and leftover veg with dip can all be used for a soup – or chop the veg and saute into an omelette.
POURS FOR THOUGHT: After a big party you’re often left with lots of different bottles of booze. Add leftover fruit to any half-bottles of gin to make delicious flavoured gin for your next do.
Whisky or tequila can go great with meat, so think about that when planning meals this week. And vodka can be used instead of vinegar around the house, so clean up and make your mirrors shine.

SEW USEFUL: There’s been bunting everywhere this weekend, but what do you do with it now? Check YouTube for free crafting projects. I found a tutorial that turned a single bunting triangle into a clever needle purse.
Another alternative is to pick up some cheap fabric spray (get 2 x 400ml cans from Wilko for £10, usually £5.75 each) and give all decorations a new lease of life for another party.
Flags can be stripped from their posts and framed as a memory of the Jubilee weekend – Dunelm has several discounted frames in their big summer sale.
