But you’ll want to keep an eye out for certain products over others if you want to get the most bang for your buck.

You can find your nearest Homebase branch by using the store locator on its website.

You just have to type in your postcode or town where you live and it will bring up your closest store and its opening hours.

Here are some of the best steals you can pick up and the ones to avoid.

What to buy

Garden furniture

Summer is on its way and households will be looking for cheap garden furniture so they can bask in the sun.

Luckily, you can pick up all kinds of outdoor chairs, tables and more from Homebase.

If you are eagle-eyed enough, you’ll be able to bag yourself a discount too.

For example, the retailer recently slashed the price of its Alexandria rattan sofa set to £288, down from £360.

Discounted products

You might not think it possible, but you can actually haggle at high street shops like Homebase.

Research from consumer website moneysavingexpert.com found 54% of people that tried bartering prices at the retailer were successful.

It’s probably more worthwhile going for already discounted products, as if they’ve already been reduced it means staff might be willing to go further.

Anything over £100

If you’ve got the time and energy you can of course head to your nearest Homebase branch to pick something up.

But if you’d rather order from the comfort of your sofa, you can always order online.

Delivery costs can set you back around £30 though – if you’re buying an item that’s only £9 it isn’t worth it.

Luckily, you can get free delivery if you spend over £100.

Products on offer

Homebase regularly runs offers on multiple products.

It’s currently got Westland Jack’s Magic All Purpose Compost on sale for £10, but you can get two for £16.

It’s also got four for three on outdoor pots and buy one get one half price on storage boxes too.

Make sure to keep an eye on its website for all the latest deals.

What not to buy

Homebase lets you return the vast majority of its products within 30 days – given they are in resalable condition – and you should get a full refund.

However, there are certain items excluded from the policy – kitchen and bathroom products.

Homebase’s website says: “Our kitchens, bathrooms, and concession items with independent payment systems are excluded from Homebase returns.

“Aside from these, our general policy is if the item is returned in resalable condition within 30 days, we can refund you the full amount.”

The retailer has a list of products on recall on its website, including currently a Black and Decker saw table and Dreambaby Nightlight.
