William Hill owner 888 has been hit by new gambling regulations and punter-friendly football results.
The betting giant revealed that revenues slipped to £405million for the three months to the end of September from £449.4million in the same period a year earlier.
At its UK and Ireland business, which includes more than 1,000 betting shops, revenues fell 10 per cent to £157.2million.

It blamed tougher regulations introduced after the Government in April unveiled new rules including limits on the amounts that could be staked on online slot machines, and curbs on marketing.
888 has also been stung by results in punters’ favour, including goals by Erling Haaland in Manchester City’s strong start to the football season.
Betting shops were the bright spot, with their revenues up 1 per cent to £125.6million.
Shares in 888 fell 3.6 per cent, or 3.05p, to 82.7p.
